The adventure takes a turn when old tensions in the unlikely pair are revealed against the backdrop of their family history
Synopsis
Unlikely cousins David and Benji meet while on tour in Poland to pay their last respects to their beloved grandmother. When Benji and David visit their grandmother's house in Poland, it is the place where Jesse Eisenberg's real ancestors settled in the diaspora.
Benji Kaplan: People, this is what filmmaking is all about
Related to Amanda the Jedi Show: The BEST and Weirdest Movies You (Mostly) Haven't Seen Yet | Love Lies and Bleeds (2024) I saw this at the Sundance Film Festival in 2024. Jesse Eisenberg previously made a film called When You're Done Saving the World , which was interesting but unfortunately a bit annoying.
This includes beautiful cinematography, a good soundtrack and conversations that felt real, authentic and engaging
This is where Eisenberg's direction and screenplay for this film show that he has improved significantly, as many of the characters are interesting and compelling, there is good dialogue and great performances, especially Kieran Culkin, who steals the show throughout the film. The narrative explores family history and complicated bonds, and each of the themes and explorations of themes are well explored, making it fun, emotional and engaging to watch.
Some of the soundtracks seemed a little out of place
Eisenberg's approach to chemistry, structure and pacing was good, as he created a really good, engaging and personal story about family history and the true meaning of bonds and relationships. But overall, Eisenberg has improved and I can't wait to see what else he can bring to the present.
