Having witnessed a strange, traumatic incident involving a patient, the psychiatrist is increasingly convinced that she is threatened by some supernatural entity. A couple of days before the release of the film on September 30, 2022, the actors from the film appeared at various baseball games, sitting behind home base motionless and smiling, looking at the camera, not moving, despite the understandable concern of fans in the hall, wearing Smile T-shirts. Another soon appeared in the background with the crowd during the Today show. At about the 31 minute mark, Rose breaks a glass when her alarm goes off. When the glass is shown at her feet, she is wearing socks. A few seconds later, when she checks the door, she is wearing lace-up shoes. Based on what happens later at the party, there are a few continuity issues that may not be "mistakes" but actually intentional to show the "breaks" in Rose's mind/sanity.. Rose Cotter: Who are you? Why are you doing this to me? Monster: Because your mind is so attractive.. Paramount's initial and final logos have a curved line in the shape of a smile at the foot of a mountain. It's been a long time since I've seen such a good horror movie. The story is a bit corny at times, but it's well written and well acted most of the time. The acting is also excellent, which is not always the case with horror films. It is very well staged, and the atmosphere is really creepy. The first girl who dies in the movie probably had the most unpleasant smile I've ever seen, possibly in my entire life. Especially when the therapist began to see her in the dark as a hallucination. It really gave me chills. Then there were some smiles, which were not very scary, like the patient Karl's. The pace of the film was excellent. He became more and more terrifying as the story progressed. The ending really stuck in my mind, and I actually thought I was going to have nightmares that night, which doesn't happen to me very often. The day after I watched this movie, a car drove by and the old man behind the wheel looked at me and smiled… The only thing I could think about was this movie. It was Parker Finn's first feature film. I really hope that he will make even more such films. A good start to his career as a screenwriter/director. Well done!
