Call Mickey Haller

Synopsis

Need a lawyer? He runs his law firm out of his Lincoln, and he's ready to step on the gas. Moving to Los Angeles, he takes on cases while balancing a personal life that includes being a father and having two ex-wives. Originally set up with CBS for a series commitment in 2020, it was canceled just before the first episode was set to film due to COVID. It's now been picked up by Netflix for a 10-episode first season based on Mickey Haller's second book "The Brass Verdict." Mickey Haller has several cars, all with personalized California license plates with legal terms on them.

Personalized California plates allow a maximum of seven letters/numbers, but all of Mickey's plates have at least eight. The Lincoln LawyerNetflix adapted a novel called The Brass Verdict into a television show. It stars Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Becki Newton from How I Met Your Mother, Neve Campbell from the Scream franchise, Christopher Gorham, Angus Sampson from the Insidious franchise, Jazz Raycole, and Lana Parrilla from Once Upon a Time. In 2006, Michael Connelly published his first novel out of six books, based on Mickey Haller. 2011 saw Connelly's first book, The Lincoln Lawyer, be adapted into a film.

It is based on the second book in the series, known as The Brass Verdict. After the mysterious death of another lawyer, Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia Rulfo) inherits all of his unfinished cases. In addition to needing to learn his business, he begins investigating the sudden death of his colleague, while also trying to repair his relationships in his personal life. It's not hard to see why The Lincoln Lawyer is so popular on Netflix. All the storylines and likable characters make the series intriguing to watch.

She's a great supporting character

Rulfo is charming and personable as Haller. He makes the audience and the courtroom laugh with his one-liners. Having struggled with drug addiction in the past, he has compassion for others in similar situations, which leads him to hire Izzy Letts (Jazz Raycole) to be his driver. They care for each other and hold each other accountable to make sure they both stay on track. Gorham does a good job playing Trevor Elliott, a billionaire who plays the victim of his wife's murder.

The multiple storylines create interest in the series

Newton plays a positive and caring Lorna Crane, who is Haller's secretary as well as a friend. In addition to all the people helping Haller, he hires a private investigator named Cisco. Sampson works well with the team to ensure Haller's success. In most episodes, Haller has to solve a small case, but he also has to solve a bigger case, as well as other plot points. My verdict on The Lincoln Lawyer is that if you like legal dramas, you will like this series.
