It follows a Mexican-American family who have recently lost touch with each other and their roots when they embark on an epic journey that immediately goes awry. George Lopez was originally cast as Gil and then Alejandro, but eventually dropped out due to scheduling conflicts and was replaced by Cheech Marin and Alexander Alayon Jr., respectively.
