Synopsis
The series is an adaptation of James Patterson’s novels about the complicated and brilliant detective Alex Cross. Hodge is the third actor to portray Cross, following Morgan Freeman, who first portrayed him on screen in 1997’s Kiss the Girls and again in 2001’s sequel Along Came a Spider; and Tyler Perry as the title character in the 2012 film Alex Cross, which flopped at the box office and led Lionsgate to cancel a previously planned sequel, Double Cross. The Amazon series is starting out with a few problems. , if you’ve read all the books in the Alex Cross series, you have your own image of the incredible characters that come to life from the first pages.
Alex is a good choice!
As with many of the films of Cross’ novels, they just don’t do the characters justice. But John Sampson should be a much bigger man. Like a wide, tall football player. This Alex is my favorite Det Cross for me.
No, who packs carrots and celery
The kids are doing well at a younger age. But Mama Nana is too young and I see her as a slimmer woman with a BIG personality who always cooks good, comfort food! Her meals in a warm, older kitchen were so well written I could taste her cobbler and biscuits! Maria only has a small role and she wasn't what I imagined either.
I hope she meets Bree Stone?
The music is in full swing and I can see the friendship between him and Sampson but it's not as strong as in the novels. I still enjoy it and the serial killer is nice, one of many that Det Cross has to bring to justice, it's just the plot is a bit confusing and the killer is revealed quite quickly too, I hope the series gets a 2nd, 3rd and 4th season so we can see the actors grow in their stories from the novels. They are the heart of Cross' success! Thank you Amazon for bringing Alex Cross to Prime!
